The rear of the Löft is far more than initially meets the eye. Engineering the mechanism took us a while. Using it remains simple. 

The elevator bed lifts to the ceiling through the day and drops to a full queen at night. The lounge below it stays a dinette with a lagun table, or folds into a lower bunk.  The lower cabinet doors  can open to make space for a long ski width, with access through the side hatches on either side of the vehicle, while the tall back hatch allows for larger gear to be stored between the benches. 

Remove the dinette lower cabinets, two-thirds of them or all of them, to make space for an even larger gear garage. Raise the bed and and remove the benches for a garage that runs the full width and  nearly the full height of the van.  This space makes bringing endless gear possible.
